Make small positive changes in your daily routines to help improve your mood.

Your mood is something that affects your happiness and satisfaction in life and your ability to work effectively each day. Notice how you are feeling each day, and if you are in a bad mood, commit to changing your actions to do something that will adjust your mood to a more positive one.  Sometimes just shifting your behavior by doing something different will shift your thought process from feeling uncomfortable or negative to feeling better. Here are some examples of mood adjustors. Surround yourself with positive people who are uplifting and support you as much as possible.  Volunteer to help someone in need. This act of kindness actually elevates your mood! Keep in mind that you have much in your life to be thankful for instead of magnifying the individual negative thoughts. Make a conscious effort to smile when alone or when mingling with co-workers. This simple act increases the hormone serotonin that is associated with elevated levels of happiness. Avoid berating or putting yourself down. We are usually our harshest critics. Instead think positive! These small actions can improve your mood, so try them the next time you are feeling sad or upset.
